It sort of annoys me that the Homestuck fandom can raise $700,000 in 40 hours for a game, but Danneel Ackles, the amazing, wonderful, beautiful, and fantastic woman that she is, hasn’t yet reached $5000 in her fundraising for The Heroes Project. The project, in case you’re unaware:
The Heroes Project is an organization that works with the veterans, solider and military families community on all levels. Its mission is to improve the care and protection of heroes through individual support, community empowerment and systemic change.
Imagine if we put as much effort as the Homestuck fans into donating to the charities that the Supernatural cast and their families support. We could do so much, and help so many. We could actually put our money towards something amazing and inherently good. It doesn’t matter who it is raising the money - Danneel or Jensen, Jared or Gen, Misha or Vicki - if it’s going to a good cause, and it’s something they’re passionate about, then that’s a good enough reason for me to donate what I can.
So take a moment of your time to hop to that link, and donate something, even if it’s as little as a dollar. Every little bit helps.
